We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Officer to join our team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the College’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high-quality service to both internal and external stakeholders.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Deputy Principal, the Finance Officer is responsible for the end-to-end administration of payroll, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance. The role also supports student fee management and government reporting requirements.
This is a full-time, onsite position based at our Geelong campus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* End-to-end payroll processing, including compliance with tax, superannuation, and reporting obligations
* Accounts payable and receivable, including payment processing, reconciliations, and vendor management
* Student fee administration, including invoicing, FEE-HELP processes, and responding to enquiries
* Month-end activities, including accruals, reporting, and support for financial close
* Maintaining accurate financial and employee records
* Supporting audits, compliance activities, and reporting requirements
* Providing responsive, high-quality support to staff, students, and external stakeholders
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Demonstrated experience in payroll and accounts processing
* Strong working knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Office
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
* Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team
Desirable:
* Experience within an education environment or with student fee systems (e.g. FEE-HELP)
* Familiarity with Synergetic or similar databases
* Interest in, or connection to, the agricultural sector
QUALIFICATIONS
* Certificate III or IV in Accounts Administration (or equivalent experience)
* Relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded
