Job Title: Principal Architectural Designer
The key objective of this role is to collaborate with a team of architects and designers to develop design solutions, coordinate the design through the construction administration phase of a project, and translate sketches and documents into realized 3D models and working drawings.
You will possess extensive knowledge of architectural design principals, technical details, codes, and material characteristics. You will participate in all project phases, with a primary focus on design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
You will work collaboratively with the design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives. You will produce BIM models and construction drawings, resolve challenging technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative, technical, constructible solutions, and support project sustainability targets throughout project phases.
You will study sustainable design strategies in every project stage and investigate solutions to sustainable design challenges.
Key responsibilities include developing the design and delivery of the architectural and/or technical aspects of a project, possessing knowledge of architectural design principals, technical details, codes, and material characteristics, participating in all project phases, collaborating with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors, producing BIM models and construction drawings, resolving challenging technical and design issues, supporting project sustainability targets, studying sustainable design strategies, investigating solutions to sustainable design challenges, working collaboratively with the team to optimize sustainability performance, and coordinating external stakeholders such as engineers, manufacturers, and local authorities.
This role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations with tact, grace, and emotional intelligence, familiarity with Green Star or other sustainability rating systems, motivated to grow knowledge and experience in sustainability on a personal and a team level, ability to coordinate and manage various services engineers and build lasting relationships, proficiency in REVIT, Enscape, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft office, and additional software skills in Illustrator, Rhino, Grasshopper are a plus.
