About the role
Mater Pathology is currently inviting applications for casual Courier team members to join our team based at the South Brisbane Campus.
This position may involve participation in a rotating roster across a 24-hour, 7-day schedule.
The first courier run commences at 6:00am with services operating until 11:00pm Monday to Friday, and across weekends.
As a Mater Pathology Courier, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring the timely and secure transport of specimens during the pre-analytical stage.
Your contribution directly supports the delivery of high-quality samples for testing, which is essential for accurate diagnosis and effective patient treatment.
Salary range
$***** - $***** (OO2) per hour plus casual loading plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+ access to many staff benefits
What you'll be doing
Receive assignments via navigation systems or telephone
Collection of blood samples from Mater Pathology Collection Centre, Doctor Surgeries and Nursing Homes.
Registration of samples using pre-analytical tracking system
Maintain equipment, consumables and work areas in a clean, safe and well-resourced state.
Deliver customer experience of a high standard by ensuring a professional appearance and positive personal interactions.
Promoting the philosophy of health care and values of Mater Health Service
Providing excellent patient care and a strong commitment to customer service
Maintaining quality of service as per ISO ***** accreditation and AS/NZS ISO/********* standards
About you
A valid Open Queensland Driving License with a clean driving history
A good understanding of traffic patterns
Availability for AM, PM and week-end shifts
Be punctual, reliable and trustworthy
Have strong communication skills, including good customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Good understanding of patient confidentiality
Ability to work as part a of multidisciplinary team environment
