About the Opportunity
As the Site Manager you will lead the safe and effective operations and maintenance of Clean Co's 66 MW Barron Gorge Hydro Power Station in Cairns.
This permanent, site‑based role reports to the Executive General Manager Asset Operations and is critical to ensuring reliability and availability of this key generation asset.
Responsibilities Oversee asset management strategy and compliance with Clean Co standards
Drive optimisation and performance improvements to support trading strategy
Manage risk, budgets, and reporting
Lead a multidisciplinary team and foster a culture of safety and collaboration
Be accountable for leading safe and effective operations with a focus on health, safety & environment
Lead site‑based engineering, operators and maintenance personnel
Ensure both reliability and availability of this key generation asset
Contribute to the development of Clean Co's strategic plan and ensure activities at Barron align with this along with the budget and asset management strategy About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Demonstrated expertise in power generation or heavy industry, with proven ability to develop and implement asset management strategies
An experienced leader that focuses on continuous improvement, driving innovation, and cultivating a collaborative, high‑performing team environment
Skilled at engaging teams to consistently prioritise health, safety and environmental standards while championing operational and maintenance best practices
Adept at working across all organisational levels, from senior leadership to site‑based teams, communicating clearly and effectively in operational settings
Hold relevant trade or tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, Business, or Economics
Brings a strong track record in risk management, budget development, and financial oversight
Possesses deep knowledge and practical application of asset management, maintenance management, and commercial principles
