The Role
As our HR Advisor you will be reporting to the Senior HR Manager and providing sound people advice and support to our on-site construction team through to corporate services in Head Office. You will provide expert guidance and practical support across all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, payroll and timesheet management, employee relations, learning and development and HR administration.
This role is hands-on and well suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail while helping build structure in an evolving environment. If you enjoy building strong relationships, improving systems, and confident communication is your strength then you will fit right in.
Key Responsibilities in this role:
* Providing day to day HR advice and operational support to blended workforce that is made up of site-based construction services, engineering and corporate services
* Supporting end to end recruitment activities including screening, interviewing and selection and staff onboarding
* Preparing and issuing employment contracts, variations and lifecycle letters.
* Maintaining accurate employee data across HR systems, including Employment Hero
* Support onboarding coordination, including system access and documentation, coordinating and monitoring probationary and six-monthly performance reviews, and support managers in their delivery including performance management
* Support fortnightly payroll processing by providing accurate and timely employee information, auditing of timesheets and preparation for third party payroll processing via Employment Hero
* Stay informed of legislative changes and best practice, ensuring updates are communicated and implemented throughout our team and business
* Organise and support staff activities and engagement initiative
* Identifying gaps, inefficiencies or inconsistencies in processes or procedures and proactively suggesting practical improvements
* Support the implementation of initiatives that enhance recruitment, engagement, performance, safety, and wellbeing
* Prepare HR reports and manage documentation in line with governance and audit requirements
About You
You are a confident and approachable HR professional with strong generalist experience and a passion for supporting people and organisations to succeed. You bring sound judgement, strong attention to detail, and the ability to balance competing priorities.
You will also have:
* 2+ years' experience across People & Culture or HR Operations (in an EPC or Renewables environment highly regarded)
* A practical understanding of Australian employment relations landscape, including NES and Modern Awards.
* Demonstrated experience using Employment Hero
* The ability to work collaboratively and build trusted relationships
* A resilient, proactive and solutions-focused mindset
* Strong attention to details and accuracy, particularly across contracts and data
* A qualification in HR, business or related discipline is desirable but not essential
