Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.

SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.

Currently we are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Medical to join our team at Acquired Brain Injury department.


* The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for Acquired Brain Injury Unit in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), manages the delivery of quality patient care within their speciality. The CNS supports the NUM by supervising the delivery of quality patient care, through developing standards of practice, implementing changes to clinical practice, education of staff, and initiating research and quality improvement activities. The CNS is accountable for the provision of a consultation service within their area of expertise within the Hospital.
* The CNS works collaboratively to improve the quality of patient care and promote desired outcomes in the Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation patient population within the inpatient and ambulatory care setting.
* The CNS has professional accountability to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery, provides mentorship and role modelling for nurses, and contributes to the advancement of the profession in keeping with the vision and values for Fiona Stanley Nursing.
