Role: Oracle Technical Architect – Azure Exadata
Location: Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane/Remote
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
* Define and own the technical architecture for Oracle DB migrations to Azure Exadata ExaCS, aligning with enterprise standards and best practices.
* Collaborate with solution architects to translate business requirements into scalable migration architectures.
* Provide hands-on leadership in designing, validating, and optimizing Oracle DB configurations (RAC, Data Guard, ASM, multitenancy).
* Guide migration engineers on implementation best practices, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
* Ensure integration with Azure services, security models, and governance frameworks.
* Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and architecture validations throughout migration.
* Support sizing, capacity planning, and high availability strategies.
* Maintain documentation of architecture decisions, technical standards, and migration patterns.
* Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues during and after migrations.
Required Skills:
* 8 + years of relevant experience, with strong hands-on Oracle DB architecture expertise.
* Deep knowledge of Oracle 11gR2, 12c, and 19c, particularly on Exadata platforms (X7 or later).
* Expertise in RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and multitenancy, with proven performance tuning skills.
* Experience architecting solutions on Exadata X9/X11 and cloud platforms (Azure, OCI).
* Familiarity with Azure networking, security, and governance models.
* Proven ability to lead technical teams and influence architectural decisions.
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
* Knowledge of Oracle licensing and cost optimization strategies (preferred).
