About Our Client:
Our client is a top-tier global bank specializing in corporate and institutional banking solutions. They are looking for an accomplished Chief Risk Officer to lead their risk management function in Sydney.

Key Responsibilities:
Risk Strategy & Framework: Develop, implement, and oversee enterprise-wide risk management frameworks aligned with the bank's risk appetite.
Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, while advising the business on compliance requirements.
Industry & Regulatory Awareness: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market and regulatory developments, briefing senior stakeholders on material risks and trends.
Team Leadership: Manage the risk department, including recruitment, training, and development of team members and department heads.
Governance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, prepare risk reports for the Board and senior management, and serve as a key liaison with regulators.
Company Secretary Duties: Support governance activities, including Board and Committee meeting coordination.
Operational & Reputational Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks arising from operational failures, human error, or reputational threats.
Insurance & Loss Prevention: Oversee the bank's insurance program and investigate potential risk exposures.
Ad-Hoc Leadership Tasks: Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by senior management.

Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
15+ years in banking, with 5+ years in senior risk/leadership roles within Australian corporate banking.
Proven ability to engage with regulators, C-suite executives, and board members on complex risk and compliance matters.
Deep expertise in local risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements (APRA, ASIC, etc.).
Strong leadership in risk framework development, audits, and outsourcing oversight.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels.
Experience as an Accountable Person under regulatory regimes (e.g., BEAR, FAR).
