About the Role
Trojan Rail is offering an exciting opportunity for individuals to enter the rail industry through paid, nationally recognised training delivered by Challenger Training (RTO# 91830). No experience needed. Roles available across Narrabri, starting April 2026.

Training Pathway
* Paid Classroom & Practical Training: Learn in the classroom and on the job in Werris Creek.
* On-the-Job Mentoring & Assessment: Support from experienced professionals to ensure your success.
* Transition into Client Positions: Trojan Rail helps place successful candidates into client positions when rail requirements are met.
Responsibilities after VOC with the Client
* Support the train crew to ensure services are safe and on time.
* Assist with shunting activities, yard tasks, and basic safety checks.
* Communicate effectively with site teams and follow procedures.
* Complete work orders and digital entries as needed.
Qualifications & Traits
* A safety-focused and reliable individual.
* Someone who is calm, attentive, and able to follow procedures.
* A clear communicator who works well in a small team or independently.
* Willing to work shifts in all weather conditions.
Requirements
* Ability to pass a Category 1 rail medical and ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
* HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or willingness to obtain.
* Basic computer skills and sound literacy and numeracy.
* Right to work in Australia.
* Provide a Police Check with no court disclosable outcomes.
