About the Role
As Master <45m NC (Class IV), you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of our vessels, while leading and inspiring a large, dynamic team of deckhands, aquatic staff, and cruise attendants.
You will uphold the highest standards of safety, compliance, and guest service — ensuring every journey is memorable for the right reasons.
Key Responsibilities
* Command and safely navigate vessels in accordance with AMSA requirements and company procedures
* Oversee all aspects of daily operations including mooring, boarding, logistics, and reef platform activities
* Lead, mentor, and support a crew of 20–30, promoting teamwork, safety, and service excellence
* Conduct pre-start checks, toolbox talks, and emergency drills in line with the Safety Management System (SMS)
* Ensure compliance with operational, safety, and environmental standards
* Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, crew, and management
* Monitor vessel performance and assist with maintenance and reporting
* Foster a positive, proactive, and safety-first culture onboard
About You
* Current Master <45m NC (Class IV)
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a Vessel Master
* Proven ability to lead and manage a rotating crew
* Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
* Availability for a roster including weekends and public holidays
* Current right to live and work in Australia - Sponsorship not available
Highly Desirable
* Previous experience in the marine tourism industry
* Confidence using compliance, maintenance, or logbook systems
