Primary objective
To provide administrative support in a busy and demanding education environment in our student reception area. Able to assist
with behavioural problems, enter and ensure students attend detention, produce student suspension letters as directed by the
Senior On Duty.

Taminmin College is a large, comprehensive and complex Independent Public School that services the rural area of Darwin, catering
for students from Years 7 to 12. The College Values of: Respect, Effort towards Excellence, Achieve your Goals, Caring Community

Training program as well as servicing special needs students through an on-site Special Education Centre. At Taminmin every child

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide confidential secretarial and administration support to Year Level Coordinators, Assistant Principals in relation to the
Responsible Thinking Centre and School Wide Positive Behaviour Processes.
2. Produce Suspension letters in a timely manner, ensuring all details are correct before being sent to the principal for approval
then email same to parents. Retrieve and enter data into SAMS and Compass the relevant information for the suspension.
3. Undertake a range of general administrative tasks, including filing, word processing and data entry with a high level of attention
to detail, perform reception and first aid duties as required.
4. Effectively use school administration and operational systems including Microsoft Office Suite, Student Administration and
Management System (SAMS), General Access, and Compass programs.
5. Liaise with students, families, staff and other stakeholders in relation to arranging and managing meetings, data collection,
collation, analysis, and distribution of information, reminders and alerts.
6. Administer first aid and attend to sick students.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability and willingness to undertake a range of confidential administrative and secretarial duties.
2. Demonstrated ability and willingness to efficiently use school and office administration and operational computer software
systems and to quickly develop new knowledge and skills.
3. Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate and to exercise initiative, discretion and
confidentiality while working with students, families, staff and other stakeholders.
4. Demonstrated success in achieving outcomes individually and in teams.
5. Senior First Aid certificate.
Desirable
1. Previous experience in a secondary school environment.
