Summary: Unity College at Caloundra is seeking to fill three Instrumental Music Tutor positions in the following areas: Woodwind/Immersion, Guitar, and Piano. These roles involve providing high‑quality instrumental music tuition to students within the college's vibrant music program and are based on‑site at Unity College, Caloundra, with flexible hours aligned to lesson schedules and school needs.

Work hours: Flexible depending on school schedules
Salary: $61.81/hour + superannuation

About the opportunity
Three Instrumental Music Tutor positions are available for the following specialties:
- Woodwind/Immersion
- Guitar
- Piano
Responsibilities:
- Creating and delivering effective learning programs for students to improve capabilities and understanding in their chosen instrument.
- Assessing and monitoring the progress of students and identifying learning areas to provide strategies for students requiring additional learning scaffolding, including students with learning disabilities.
- Leading the delivery of teaching methods, materials, and assessments to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, and providing alternative ways for small groups or individual students to access and demonstrate their understanding of the content.
- Reviewing lesson attendance records and absenteeism, providing guidance and engagement with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
- Preparing appropriate content, creating student plans and support for concerts, liturgies, festivals, eisteddfods, music evenings and AMEB / Trinity College examinations.
- Leading open communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, including updates on student progress and performance.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments.
- Ability to read and write music notation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience monitoring student progress.
- Development of engaging lesson plans and activities.
- Patience and adaptability to work with students of varying skill levels and learning styles.
- Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) qualification and relevant experience.
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
