Our client is a leading Private Sector manufacturer; headquartered in Canberra with long ties to the Commonwealth. You will be part of something very special and work at the pointy end of technology.
**About the role and you**:
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to start as soon as possible You will bring at least 2 years experience in a similar role, and have a basic understanding of General Accounting Principles and Legislation, and the ability to process, investigate and analyse financial information, as well as experience using accounting systems, such as Pronto.
- Please note: Due to the nature of the industry our client operates in, all applicants must Australian Citizens and have a minimum Baseline Security Clearance._
**Your responsibilities will include (however, not limited to)**:
- Following up approval for invoices without a purchase order and processing purchase order variances.
- EFT reimbursements to staff for travel and petty cash.
- Following up creditor account variances.
- Reconciling invoice variances in general ledger accounts.
- Entering Creditor's invoices into Pronto.
- Maintaining payment schedules.
- Creating and maintaining creditor accounts.
- Entering and maintaining creditor bank details in Pronto and bank software.
- Responding to creditors' enquiries and general accounts enquiries.
- Preparation and reconciliation of weekly payments.
- Accurate and timely filing of paid invoices.
- Matching creditor statements with current invoices.
**Skills, Experience and other Requirements**:
- AGSVA clearance level: Baseline
- Ability to process, investigate and analyse financial information and minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Basic understanding of General Accounting Principles and Legislation.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills and understanding of Accounting Systems (Pronto).
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and to be able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to cope with organisational change and demonstrate a high level of personal drive and resilience.
