Job Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to support the delivery of high-quality legal services. As a Trainee Paralegal, you will be responsible for assisting solicitors with day-to-day operations of files and case management.
Your primary responsibility will be to draft and file court, tribunal, and legal documents, as well as prepare correspondence, briefs, and court files. You will also maintain client files electronically on our practice management software and perform research, fact gathering, and information retrieval.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist solicitors with day-to-day operations of files and case management.
* Draft and file court, tribunal, and legal documents.
* Prepare correspondence, briefs, and court files.
* Maintain client files electronically on our practice management software.
* Perform research, fact gathering, and information retrieval.
* Conduct client conferences and analysis of documents.
* Prepare for and assist at trials.
* Locate and interview witnesses.
* Coordinate tasks with solicitors and others to ensure timely completion.
Requirements
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to prioritize and manage workflow.
* Proven computer systems skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Above all, ability to respect confidential material and exercise discretion.
* Superior attention to detail.
* Emotional intelligence and ability to work under pressure.
Working Arrangements
The position can be full-time or part-time. Part-time roles require a minimum of 3 full days or equivalent.
