Job Overview
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety management are carried out across all construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist project teams in the preparation and implementation of HSEQ documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Coach and advise site personnel on legislative requirements, changes, and company procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
* Administer incident and hazard reporting processes and actions as per company guidelines.
* Collaborate with management to foster a healthy, safe, and environmentally responsible working culture amongst personnel.
* Conduct regular HSEQ site inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
* Coach site teams on effective delivery of pre-start meetings and Toolbox talks.
* Coordinate HESQ training programs, including competency standard maintenance.
* Analyze HSEQ performance, reporting, and system updates to optimize operations.
* Maintain the company's Integrated Management System to an accredited level.
* Develop and compile project-specific HSEQ documentation to support tender bids as required.
Requirements:
* Cert IV in Health & Safety or Diploma preferred.
* 3-5 years' experience in construction health & safety with a strong background in site-based roles.
* Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience in creating and reviewing Management Plans, SWMS, JHA's, and conducting audits.
* Understanding of Quality Management processes.
