The Role The role of Disability Support Worker in Accommodation Servicesis to provide support to our high needs Disability clients whorequire assistance with personal care and daily tasks. Our service to is assist clients with high support needs thismay include clients who use wheelchairs and other aids and weprovide additional support for their medical and care needs. Thisrole will require you to have experience and or training in usingthe aids to assist our clients and a high level of understandingaround Manual Handling. Residents are supported each morning and afternoon, overnightand on weekends by experienced and qualified staff. We have astrong focus on developing the skills of each individual to live asautonomously as possible within a shared living and one on oneenvironment. About Your New Role Are you passionate about supporting clients with disabilities / mental health and advancing and empowering the lives ofothers.Are you compassionate and demonstrates empathy.Are you able to handle complex or challenging situations calmlyand rationally. Essential Selection Criteria Strong communication skills and the ability to develop positiverelationships with clients to actively support individualneeds.Resilience, self-confidence and willingness to engage clientswith various backgrounds and needs. Ability to prioritize and demonstrates problem solvingskills. Ability and willingness to work shift work, regularsleepovers, weekends and public holidays. Competent with Microsoft Office suite particularly MS Word andMS Outlook. Current valid Provisional or Unrestricted Australian Driver'sLicense.Current Working With Children Check or the willingness toobtain. NSW NDIS Workers screening Check, or willing to obtain.
