JLE Manufacturing & Hire is a trusted name in electrical manufacturing and engineering, delivering high-quality solutions across multiple sectors. We're looking for a results-driven Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and drive excellence in safety, quality, and productivity.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, this leadership role will oversee day-to-day operations, manage production teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
About the Role
As an Operations Manager, you will:
* Oversee and optimise all manufacturing and production activities to meet business and customer goals.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled electrical workforce, including apprentices.
* Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
* Manage production planning, inventory control, and supplier relationships to support operational success.
* Drive quality assurance, workplace health and safety, and compliance with WHSEQ standards.
* Monitor budgets, analyse KPIs, and report on performance outcomes.
* Collaborate with clients, project teams, and senior management to achieve seamless project delivery.
What you will bring
We're seeking an experienced operations professional who is:
* Proven in manufacturing or production management, ideally within the electrical or engineering industry.
* Skilled in leadership, team development, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
* Knowledgeable in lean manufacturing, process improvement, and workflow optimisation.
* Confident managing budgets, cost controls, and financial performance.
* Experienced with ERP systems and production planning tools.
* Committed to workplace safety, compliance, and quality standards.
* Able to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure.
Qualification & Experience
* Demonstrated experience in electrical manufacturing operations or a similar industrial environment.
* Strong financial management and operational accountability.
* 7–12 years of trade or manufacturing leadership experience.
* Understanding of relevant Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.
* Contract administration experience (GC21, AS4000, Minor Works).
* OH&S or management training qualifications.
