About the Family:
This warm, active family has recently moved to the area and is settling in with their two energetic little ones—a 4.5-year-old boy and a 1.5-year-old girl. They love spending time outdoors and as a family, with days often filled with beach trips, nature walks, playground visits, swimming, bike rides, and plenty of music. At home, you'll find board games, Lego, action figures, imaginative play and cozy movie nights, with baking and sweet treats thrown in for good measure. Mum is currently on maternity leave and will be home for the next 12 months (with the occasional relief teaching day), creating a supportive, hands-on environment. The eldest attends kindy part-time and is a big-thinking, superhero-loving kid who thrives on active play, while the youngest is a happy, outdoors-loving toddler who enjoys swings, slides and music. The children are curious, social and full of energy, and the family is excited to enroll them in extracurricular activities such as swimming, sport or martial arts as they continue to build their new community.
What we are looking for:
This family is seeking a fun, warm and experienced nanny to become a trusted extra set of hands in their home and a long-term support for their family. The role will begin as a mother's helper position, working alongside mum as the family settles into their new area, with some sole care required from time to time. As mum returns to part-time work (ideally 2027), the role may naturally evolve into a more traditional nanny position.
The ideal candidate will be kind, patient, energetic and reliable, confident caring for both a preschooler and a toddler, and genuinely enjoy hands-on play, outdoor adventures, planning age-appropriate activities and supporting daily routines. Availability for occasional evening babysitting and potential family travel (by mutual agreement) would also be amazing for the family!
A day in the life:
A typical day in this role will be active, varied and child-focused, supporting both children through their routines while working alongside mum and occasionally providing sole care.
Mornings may include breakfast and lunchbox preparation, kindy drop-offs on scheduled days, and engaging the youngest in outings such as playground visits, park picnics or local walks. The day will be filled with outdoor play, imaginative games, music, reading and age-appropriate activities, with a focus on keeping both children stimulated and happy. Midday will usually involve lunch and nap time for the youngest, followed by kindy pick-up when required and a relaxed afternoon of beach walks, park play or home-based activities.
Tasks include:
· preparing meals for the children, packing lunches
· bathing and dressing
· supporting toilet training when developmentally appropriate
· transporting the children to outings or extracurricular activities
· maintaining a general tidy of children's spaces
· Occasional light household tasks such as folding a load of washing or baking lunchbox snacks may also be part of the role.
Transport:
Licence required and vehicle provided
Must have:
· Blue card
· Police Check
· First Aid and CPR Certificate
· Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
· 2 x Reference checks
· Long term commitment
· Drivers licence
· Non smoking
