The Team
The Medical Unit at Northwest Regional Hospital includes a 27-bed General Medical Ward, a 15-bed Isolation Ward, and an 8-bed Acute Medical Unit (AMU) for short-stay patients. We specialise in delivering comprehensive care to individuals with complex medical conditions, including acute stroke, palliative care, sepsis, respiratory and cardiac conditions, and acute delirium. The Isolation Unit is equipped to manage patients with transmission-based infections, including COVID-19. Staff working in the Medical Unit will have the opportunity to rotate through all three areas, gaining diverse clinical experience and broadening their professional skills. The Role
The Registered Nurse strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals. We're seeking experienced Registered Nurses with 3–4+ years of acute medical ward experience who thrive in fast-paced environments and work confidently within multidisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates will have contributed to quality improvement initiatives, participated in audits or reviews, and supported staff and patient education. Recent professional development or relevant training is highly regarded.

Details of appointment
Permanent, full time or part time, shift worker positions available, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date.
* Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary and Benefits
* Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
* Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
Salary Packaging: You'll have access to salary packaging a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
