PRIMARY DETAIL Junior Science Academy Educator Macquarie University (Dharug land) North Ryde, Sydney, NSW - Fun, hands on STEAM teaching with all lesson plans and resources provided - Work on a vibrant University campus close to public transport - Hourly rate $36.63 - $40.07p/h 11.5% super Campus Life is currently seeking Casual Educators to join the Macquarie University Junior Science Academy (JSA) team. Reporting to the JSA Coordinator, you will draw on your experience working with children to deliver STEAM-based lesson plans to school children in our hands-on, interactive programs. These include both our holiday primary school programs (run during the school holidays for primary students, on site at Macquarie University), and our high school and primary school programs (delivered on-site and in schools around Sydney to deliver programs as incursions). Based on availability and experience, you may be involved in delivering primary school holiday programs, school program incursions, or a mixture of both. Educators are responsible for effectively supervising children and managing student behaviour to maintain a clean and safe environment. Essential to the role is the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with children, families and other stakeholders. In addition, you will meet the following key selection criteria : E xperience working with school-aged children Demonstrated ability in the supervision of children and maintaining a clean and safe environment for children Awareness of child development and appropriate strategies for interacting with children Well-developed interpersonal skills Well-developed organisational skills, including time-management skills Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to build and maintain respectful and ethical relationships with colleagues, children, and families Understanding of Child Protection responsibilities and practices for keeping children safe Willingness to deliver programs with varying hours at multiple and/or off-site locations within the Sydney metropolitan area.
