About the Role

* As a Peer Support Worker, you will participate in a range of appropriate programs and activities aimed at increasing the individual's skills, knowledge and improving access to required services in the community.
* You will provide the highest level of support for individuals supported and ensure each person supported is treated with respect that enhances their personal worth, dignity and rights.
* Assist in achieving individual's, team and service goals and objectives.
* Seek ways of improving the service standards through working closely with clinical caregivers, managers and stakeholders.
* Maintain a high level of service provision for all individuals and ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of all people is supported and staff are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide peer support to veterans and first responders.
* Participate in program development and implementation.
* Maintain accurate records and reports.
* Collaborate with clinical caregivers, managers and stakeholders to improve service standards.

Requirements
">
* Certificate 4 Mental Health Peer Work within first 24 months of tenure.
* Valid Working With Children check.
* National Police Clearance.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Able to negotiate effectively in situations of conflict.
* Professional, succinct file notes and records.

Benefits

* Salary: $69,084 to $70,531 plus 12% Superannuation.
* Permanent full-time, working 38 hours per week.
