Job Description
Kohli's Group Pty Ltd T/A Kohli's Indian Restaurant is looking for a full‑time Cook for our restaurant located in Nowra NSW 2541 on a full‑time basis with a salary between $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per annum plus superannuation. You will be required to do the following duties:
* Plan and organize the preparation of food as per the menu on a day‑to‑day basis.
* Set up workstations with all the needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
* Prioritize menus, recipes, and task sheets.
* Prepare and use specialised kitchen equipment.
* Prepare ingredients for cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).
* Organise the supplies of the restaurant including groceries, diary, and vegetables.
* Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
* Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
* Preparation and cooking of all curry, tandoori, and today's specials menu items as per proper recipes.
* Prepare and cook tailor‑made menus for special orders such as birthday, engagement, and other parties.
* Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen area.
* Work cooperatively with other members of the kitchen team.
* Manage stock rotation, food safety, and minimize waste.
Will need a Food Safety Supervisor certificate. To be considered for this role you should require Cert IV in Cookery or above.
Good knowledge of Indian curry and tandoori cuisine and spices is required. Availability on weekends and ability to work split shifts. Passion for food and enjoyment of working in a busy fast‑paced kitchen environment.
Have at least two years of work experience as a chef. Ability to work in a team, very good communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and attention to detail. Must have Australian work rights.
