Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Designer/ Draftsperson to join our Newcastle team. As our client portfolio grows across the resources, energy and industrial sectors, this position will help support and expand our engineering and design capabilities. This is a great opportunity for a talented and passionate Senior Mechanical Designer/ Draftsperson to be part of a supportive and collaborative team locally in Newcastle and be involved working with our design teams in Perth, Western Australia on a variety of projects.
Responsibilities
Undertake Structural and, or Mechanical design tasks from concept through to construction
Produce detailed 3D models in line with project scopes and requirements
Produce detailed design drawing documentation for construction purposes to client specifications
Support the lead designer and or Design Manager on a variety of projects
Input to support our on-going development of Structural and, or Mechanical design drafting tools for use across the team.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in the same or similar position
Experience in Bentley Suite of packages is highly regarded but not required.
Willing to learn new software. On the job training will be provided to successful candidates
Experience with materials handling and resources sector highly regarded
Diploma or applicable drafting traineeship (or similar)
Knowledge of applicable Structural and, or Mechanical design standards and guidelines.
Good communication skills to work with a variety of different stakeholders
Ability to work well in a team environment and contribute towards successful outcomes
