We are seeking an Indigenous Student Coordinator to make a positive impact in the Schools Indigenous community.
The role is responsible for providing support and consultation on academic, career, cultural, and pastoral care matters to ensure the successful participation of Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander students at Canberra Grammar School.
About You
* You must be dedicated and passionate with relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience working in schools.
* Leadership skills are essential, including effective communication, developing others, self-awareness, drive, and purpose, as well as positively influencing individuals and teams.
* A connection to local Ngunnawal elders and acceptance within the community would be beneficial.
* Programme Oversight requires facilitating effective oversight by empowering teaching staff, fostering inclusion and understanding, and building a culture of high expectations and mutual respect.
* Strategic Development involves sharing ideas and perspectives with other Directors, ensuring the Indigenous Student Programme aligns with the School's strategic imperatives.
* Resource Management involves managing resources and budgets in consultation with the Director of Active Education, maintaining a welcoming space and office for Indigenous students, and promoting the programme through culturally appropriate artwork and signage.
* Building and Maintaining Relationships requires building trust through honesty, consistency, and reliability, developing, maintaining, and strengthening partnerships within the School and wider community.
Minimum Requirements
All team members must have:
* Appropriate qualifications
* A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
* A current National Police Check
* Full working rights within Australia
