About This Opportunity
As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering initiatives that shape the way the UQ community lives, learns, and connects. You’ll work across diverse projects spanning administrative and digital experience domains, engaging with staff, students, alumni, and the wider community. Supported by UQ’s Project Management frameworks and tools—including Microsoft 365, Jira, and Confluence—you’ll join a collaborative, future-focused team dedicated to delivering innovative outcomes that support UQ’s vision as a knowledge leader of tomorrow.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating diverse projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
- Managing vendors, procurement processes, and contracts in line with organisational policies.
- Driving engagement, communication, and change management activities to support successful project outcomes.
- Identifying and managing risks, dependencies, and issues while ensuring strong governance and reporting.

About You
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys leading projects that make a lasting impact. With strong technical knowledge, stakeholder engagement skills, and a solutions-focused mindset, you’ll bring energy and professionalism to every stage of the project lifecycle.
You will bring:
- Postgraduate qualifications (or progress towards postgraduate qualifications) in Business, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing medium to large projects in complex organisational settings.
- Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence).
- Strong experience in coordinating vendor selection, alignment, and contract negotiations.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
- High-level organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and balance competing priorities.
- Proven ability to lead, support, and develop project team members.
- Previous project management experience in a tertiary or research institution (highly desirable).
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, etc.
