About the Role
Makers Empire is seeking an experienced educator to join our Learning Team and lead delivery of major education programs.
This role suits someone with experience in teacher professional learning, program design, delivery and evaluation and school engagement, who enjoys working beyond the classroom and collaborating with educators, students, and industry partners.
While contributing to a range of Learning Team projects, the successful candidate will take lead responsibility for delivering bespoke city/regional programs and a large, state-wide Queensland program, including teacher professional development, school support, and student showcase events.
Key Responsibilities
Program Delivery & Partnership
* Lead delivery of assigned Makers Empire education programs with a particular focus on secondary education
* Plan and facilitate teacher professional development days
* Support schools throughout project implementation
* Design and deliver learning experiences and resources to inspire teachers and students to achieve learning outcomes in the classroom using design thinking methodologies, 3D design and 3D printing
* Coordinate and deliver student showcase events
Teacher & School Support
* Work closely with teachers and school leaders across primary and secondary contexts (as applicable)
* Support classroom implementation using design thinking methodologies and project-based learning
* Provide practical guidance on 3D design and 3D printing in classrooms
* Build strong, trusted relationships with participating schools
Industry & Partner Engagement
* Work with industry partners, government partners and subject matter experts
* Support industry involvement in PD days, classroom connections, and showcase events
* Facilitate industry judging panels and student presentations
Learning Team Contribution
* Contribute to broader Learning Team projects as required
* Support onboarding, trials, and follow-up with schools
* Share insights and feedback to strengthen program quality and delivery
* Collaborate with the wider Makers Empire team across education initiatives
* Initiate and maintain education networks with the potential to attend and present at events and conferences
This role involves planned travel within Queensland, primarily for:
* Teacher professional development days in Term 2
* Student showcase events in Term 4
About You
* Background as an educator, with experience delivering teacher professional learning and/or large-scale education programs
* Secondary school experience
* Strong understanding of STEM education, maker pedagogy, design thinking methodologies and project-based learning
* Confident facilitator and presenter with groups of educators
* Comfortable working with industry partners and external stakeholders
* Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects, regions and schools
* Willing and able to travel during peak delivery periods
Highly Desirable
* Experience using 3D design software in education contexts
* Hands‐on experience with 3D printing, including classroom implementation
* Experience supporting teachers to integrate digital fabrication into learning programs
* Familiarity with applications of design thinking in real‐world problem‐solving
