Overview

Join to apply for the Casual Registered Midwife role at Far West Local Health District in Broken Hill. This role offers the chance to support families during pregnancy, birth and postpartum care in a supportive rural community.

Remuneration

$37.48 - $52.62 per hour, with salary packaging, novated leasing, mileage allowance, fitness passport and paid maternity leave.

Location

Broken Hill, Broken Hill Hospital Maternity Ward. Town like no other with supportive community and travel to Mildura 3 hours, Adelaide flight 5 hours.

What You'll Be Doing

- Work 8‑hour solo shifts (7‑7) providing maternity care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for women and infants.
- Provide care for admitted antenates/postnates and special care nursery babies.
- Support birth and mentor junior midwives and students.
- Collaborate with consultant locum obstetricians and multidisciplinary team.
- Assist MGP midwives on intrapartum care shifts.
- Maintain up‑to‑date clinical knowledge and evidence‑based practice.
