CSSD Senior Instrument TechnicianTechnical Support D (grade 5)Multiple Permanent Full time/Part Time PositionsCabrini MalvernWe're building for the better!By 2036, more than 150,000 patients will look to us for healthcare every year.CSSD Cabrini MalvernAt Cabrini Hospital our Central Sterilising Supply Department (CSSD) works with cutting edge sterilisation technology in a fast-paced hospital environment. Our Central Sterilising Supply Department located at Cabrini Malvern services 19 Operating Theatres, three endoscopy rooms and three Cardiac Catheter Labs, with expansion of 4 new theatres and endoscopy (new processing and procedure rooms) due for completion in early 2026.Our department has large assembly and storage areas, providing an optimum working environment, where instruments are processed to the highest standard for each procedure.The Instrument Technicians work across a 24/7 rotating roster, reprocessing reusable medical devices for surgical procedures and typically rotate through all phases of the reprocessing cycle.What the role involves:Support and consultation with the NUM/TSEUndertake work of a complex nature, rotating through all areas of the department with a high degree of autonomy and accountabilityShift supervisionParticipate in quality activities that reflect AS5369Policy/procedure reviews (as directed by the NUM/TSE)Promoting the implementation of new ideas, and striving for best practice and continuous improvementRole model and resource for the team, contributing to staff development, and planning and conducting in-service education programsThis position requires lifting instrument trays up to 7.5kgs.What we're looking for:Along with recent proven experience as an Instrument Technician (Technical Support B or C/grade 3) and a commitment to providing a high level of service, you will have the following:MUST have Certificate IV in Sterilising Services or working towardsMUST have a minimum of 36 months experience post certificationCompetent in managing people systems/processesCapable of working with a high level of autonomy, prioritising own work within established policies, guidelines and proceduresResponsible for work performed with a substantial level of accountability and responsibilityExperience of shift supervision and quality assurance activities- PreferredAdministrative skills and problem-solving abilitiesWell-developed communication and interpersonal skillsWhat we offer:A private, non-profit hospital which offers $15,900 salary packaging tax free plus $2,650 meal & entertainment card benefits$3 a day parking at any of our sitesOur culture is inclusive; we work as a team and are constantly focusing on professional and career developmentAdditional Employee Leave BenefitsClose to public transport with Myki discount on offerWorking with the latest modern technology and established surgeonsExciting Theatre and CSSD expansion in Malvern's Perioperative servicesEnquiries to: CSSD Manager Sally Minchin at 03 9508 1413Apply early!
