We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Laboratory Technician to join our team on a casual basis. The role involves preparing and analysing water and soil samples, interpreting results and ensuring data accuracy through LIMS. Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining microbiological analysis equipment, meeting strict turnaround times, and adhering to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates effectively, and thrives both independently and in a collaborative environment. The Day to Day: The successful applicants will undertake a range of duties including the following: Performing a range of Microbiological analyses according to defined procedures and methodology or as prescribed by team leader/supervisor Perform activities in accordance with company procedures and set schedules as delegated by the supervisor/team leader Ensure results are completed to set time frames and with a high accuracy and in a professional manner Perform all QA/QC tasks that are required/instructed Maintain equipment used for conducting analyses, including cleaning and calibration Assisting in other duties as required The Essentials: The ideal applicant would have the following attributes: Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organisational skills Works effectively, independently and in a team environment Shows attention to detail A safety focus Experience in a laboratory is desirable Working at ALS The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
