About the Role
Our client is a WA State government organisation based in Fremantle WA. They are seeking a Senior Finance Officer for a temporary contract until December 2026, with hybrid working flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Advisory: provide financial counsel to executive leadership on policy, risk, and business performance.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: coordinate the preparation and monitoring of recurrent, capital, and trust fund budgets.
* Reporting & Compliance: supervise internal and external financial reporting to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
* Capital Program Management: manage the financial lifecycle, systems, and forecasting for Capital Works and Maritime programs.
* Revenue & Cost Analysis: oversee cost‐recovery models, debt recovery, and development of unit fees and charges.
* Team & Project Leadership: supervise the finance team and lead projects to improve financial systems and service delivery.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
* Experience in using financial systems and providing high‐level financial advice to management and stakeholders.
* Financial management experience, including monitoring and reporting on complex budgets.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Organisational and planning skills.
* Conceptual and analytical skills with problem‐solving ability.
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
Compensation & Benefits
* Pay $69 per hour plus super.
