**The role
As the Executive Director, System Strategy you will report to the Deputy Director-General, System Policy and Planning Division (SPPD) and play a key role in the SPPD leadership team. Leading a multidisciplinary team of technical and policy experts you will be responsible for the strategic analysis and advice that supports decision making on health funding, policy, and regulation.
The role will bring a comprehensive understanding of the strategic challenges and opportunities shaping Queensland's public health system, as well as demonstrated success partnering across government and non-government stakeholders.
The Executive Director ensures a whole-of-system approach to providing advice, supporting the Department's Executive Leadership Team to progress Queensland Government priorities for health policy, regulation, and service delivery.
The successful person
To be successful in this role, we're looking for a leader who demonstrates:
Experience operating within a complex organisation with devolved accountabilities, requiring robust system thinking, strategic leadership and risk management capabilities.
A solid understanding of the challenges and dynamics of modern health and medical service delivery.
Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, consultation and facilitation skills
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, including government agencies, healthcare providers and private sector partners.
Proven capability to lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering the business of government.
