The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision‑making. As the principal economic and financial adviser, we provide leadership and strategic advice to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia. We support decision‑making processes about where and how taxpayer money is spent, secure value‑for‑money procurement, collect revenue, and administer payment of grants and subsidies.

The role
The Senior Applications Developer is a new, forward‑focused role that embraces technology to enhance the Department's operations. The main responsibility is to provide technical support for systems being introduced into the department's growing application portfolio, contributing to the ongoing improvement and alignment with the organisation's architectural strategic objectives. The role aims to enhance existing applications and successfully deliver new applications, operating within a personal leadership context. You will be expected to demonstrate personal accountability for delivering excellence, support your team and agency in achieving strategic goals, build and nurture relationships, and seek feedback and learning.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about shaping the future of our department's technology, with broad experience in the application development ecosystem. You will demonstrate the ability to provide technical support for a variety of Business‑As‑Usual (BAU) activities and projects in a diverse environment. Experience and knowledge in complex Java application development frameworks, the full software development lifecycle, and an understanding of DevOps will greatly contribute to your success in this role.
