Our Rescue & Fire Fighting (RFF) services currently extend from stations in WA, SA, VIC, NSW, and QLD. Due to the evolving nature of this contract, we are currently employing a Watchroom Operator in our Fire and Rescue operations at Bandiana. This role can be a career as a Watch Room operator within the Emergency Services and Defence Industry or the first step into a career as a Firefighter.
Responsibilities
- Maintain operational readiness in accordance with Ventia policies and guidelines.
- Respond to fire incidents and support communications as required at the fire station, supporting the Incident Controller.
- Assist the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Fire Station with administrative duties related to operations.
- Participate in fire station training and development programs.

You must hold one of the following qualifications in each of the five categories below:

- PUAFIR215 Prevent Injury (Superseded) or EQ PUAFIR201B Prevent Injury (Superseded)
- PUAOPE013 Operate Communication Systems and Equipment
- PUAOPE013A Operate Communication Systems and Equipment (Superseded) or EQ
- PUATEA001 Work in a Team
- PUATEA001B Work in a Team (Superseded) or EQ
- PUACOM001 Communicate in the Workplace
- PUACOM001C Communicate in the Workplace (Superseded) or EQ
- PUATEA002 Work Autonomously
- PUATEA002B Work Autonomously (Superseded) or EQ
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience in a communications room environment.
Other Requirements
- Strong team orientation.
- Eligibility to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to Negative Vetting Level 1. Must be an Australian Citizen.
