Senior Lawyer Opportunity
Crown Law is seeking experienced lawyers to join its team in Brisbane. The role offers a broad range of legal services to the Queensland Government, providing dispute resolution advice to various departments and agencies.
About the Role:
This position involves working closely with colleagues to provide advice on liability, evidence, quantum, settlement, costs, and strategic direction, often collaborating with Counsel in the Supreme and District Courts. The successful candidate will run a consistent file load of litigated matters, drafting pleadings, affidavits, and other court documents and correspondence. This may involve handling government litigation, including commercial disputes, property disputes, repossession of property, debt recovery, insolvency, property damage claims, negligence claims, injunctive relief, class actions, defamation, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, and misfeasance in public office claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a consistent caseload of complex litigated matters;
- Advise on liability, evidence, quantum, settlement, costs, and strategic direction;
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality results;
Requirements:
- 4-10+ years' experience in litigation with strong training in a well-regarded law firm;
- Good working knowledge of the UCPR and experience handling Supreme and District Court level matters;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
