We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead operational excellence within our well-established hospitality venue, located on the stunning Sunshine Coast. This is a unique opportunity to join a values-driven organisation in a key leadership role, reporting directly to the Board.
About the Role
As COO, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the business, driving performance and efficiency across all departments including food and beverage, events, and guest services. Your commercial acumen, operational leadership, and passion for hospitality will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional service delivery and sustainable growth.
This is a hands-on, full-time role with broad scope and autonomy. You will work closely with the Board to deliver strategic outcomes and ensure the long-term success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of a multi-faceted hospitality business
* Drive continuous improvement across operational, financial, and customer service areas
* Support and develop department managers to achieve performance targets and uphold service standards
* Monitor business performance and report regularly to the Board
* Oversee compliance, risk, and workplace health and safety requirements
* Lead strategic planning and implementation of business growth initiatives
* Foster a positive, people-focused culture that aligns with company values
About You
* Proven senior leadership experience in the hospitality industry (essential)
* Demonstrated experience reporting to or working with a Board
* Strong financial and commercial management capabilities
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Hands-on, solutions-focused, and adaptable leadership style
* Ability to manage multiple business units in a fast-paced environment
* Knowledge of regulatory compliance and WHS within the hospitality industry (Austrac/AML-CTF)
