Position Summary
The Business Account Executive is a key member of the Retail Commercial team, responsible for supporting the delivery of customer growth plans, sales targets, and flawless execution across major retail partners. Working closely with National Account Managers, this role combines commercial analysis, customer engagement, promotional management, and cross‐functional coordination to unlock business opportunities and ensure best‐in‐class execution.
Responsibilities
Universal Accountabilities
* Support the Retail Trade team in achieving budgeted sales and gross margin targets across allocated customer accounts.
Specific Accountabilities
Commercial Planning & Analysis
* Own and deliver regular reporting and insights across EPOS trends, service levels, stock risks, promotional performance, and distribution/planogram compliance.
* Assist NAMs with strategic planning, opportunity identification, commercial modelling, and category insight generation.
* Conduct post‐event promotional evaluation and provide recommendations for future optimisation.
Forecasting & Supply
* Support forecasting processes to ensure consistent stock availability for all customer listings.
* Identify supply risks and collaborate with Demand Planning to mitigate potential service issues.
Promotional Planning & Execution
* Help manage promotional plans, including defining activity, forecasting stock, briefing the Field team, and ensuring high‐quality execution.
* Assist in trade spend management through accrual setup, reconciliation, and performance evaluation.
Customer Management & Engagement
* Prepare high‐quality customer presentations, proposals, and meeting packs; participate in customer meetings where required.
* Build strong working relationships with buying, supply chain, and other customer stakeholders to support the day‐to‐day running of the account.
* Undertake field visits to assess in‐store execution, diagnose store issues, and monitor competitor activity.
Operational & Administrative Support
* Manage product setup processes, pricing changes, digital asset supply, and sample coordination.
* Own internal communications such as field briefs, customer updates, and promotional summaries.
* Support customer events and trade shows, including stand preparation and product sample organisation.
Cross‐Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with Marketing, Category Development, Demand Planning, and Field teams to ensure alignment and flawless execution of initiatives.
What we are looking for
Required Skills And Experience
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
* Minimum 2 years' commercial experience within FMCG.
* Proven experience in a Business Account Executive, Sales Support, or similar commercial role.
* Strong analytical capability.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Nielsen and/or IRI would be an advantage.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Valid driver's licence.
Preferred Skills And Experience
* Working knowledge of AU/NZ retailers.
* Experience using retailer EPOS portals.
* Familiarity with relevant FMCG categories.
Working Relationships
* Collaborate with the Commercial team, Marketing, Category Development, Demand Planning, and Field teams.
* Work with customer buying, supply chain, and administrative contacts.
Work Environment
* Office based position with Ad Hoc AUS Travel required.
