We’re on the lookout for a skilled and creative Pastry Chef/Cook to join The Ginger Group, a busy, local catering group in Canberra known for great food and even better dining experiences.
If you love desserts, work well in a fast-paced kitchen, and enjoy coming up with ideas that look as good as they taste, this could be your next move.
What you’ll be doing
* Making a range of pastries, cakes, tarts, and plated sweets for our cafe and events
* Working with the Head Pastry Chef to create new and exciting pastry ideas
* Making sure everything you send out looks great and tastes even better
* Keeping the kitchen clean, safe, and running smoothly
* Helping manage stock and ordering ingredients
* Assisting the kitchen team across all areas when needed
What we’re looking for
* Around 2+ years’ experience in a busy restaurant or café kitchen as a Pastry Chef
* A creative eye and passion for pastry design
* Good time management and the ability to juggle tasks under pressure
* A team player who takes pride in their work
* A pastry or culinary qualification is a bonus, but not essential
* Full Australian working rights
