The Opportunity Fountain Court Retirement Living is a vibrant retirement community in Burwood, known for its welcoming atmosphere and high‑quality service. As a Maintenance Gardener, you will be play an important role within the community, ensuring gardens, grounds and outdoor areas are safe, well maintained and visually appealing. You’ll take care of day‑to‑day gardening and grounds maintenance tasks while engaging positively with residents. This role is ideal for someone with strong gardening experience who is friendly, proactive, and enjoys a varied, hands‑on role. This is a permanent part-time position working Thursday and Friday (7am-4pm) Your Impact Strong practical experience in gardening and grounds maintenance, including mowing, pruning, hedging, mulching and green waste management The ability to maintain safe, welcoming community spaces through consistent care and upkeep An understanding of irrigation systems and external sprinklers, including routine checks and basic upkeep The ability to work autonomously, managing scheduled tasks while responding to day‑to‑day gardening needs Confidence building strong relationships with residents and engaging positively as part of daily work Flexibility to manage planned maintenance and ad hoc tasks as required What you'll bring Gardening or grounds experience, with a strong sense of pride and ownership in your work A proactive, solutions‑focused approach, with the ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and take action Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident‑friendly way A positive, approachable attitude and a strong sense of pride in your work A valid driver’s licence (essential) Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required) What we offer $28.96/hr superannuation relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances Employee Referral Program and Employee Assistance Program Discounts to Health Insurance and Retail & Leisure partner providers Annual flu vaccinations and skin checks The opportunity to build meaningful, lasting relationships with residents and contribute to our retirement community Who we are As a leader in retirement living, with 30 years' experience, Aveo provides the stability and confidence to try new things and keep innovating.
