About The Role
The Magistrate Associate provides administrative, secretarial and research support to the Magistrates of the court in accordance with established legislation, policy and procedure. The Associate may be directed to work with any Magistrate or participate in job rotation at equivalent level for continued development.
The Role Of This Position Includes
* preparing matters for hearing
* managing court sittings including trials
* produces and distributes court orders made by the magistrate in the court case management database
* liaising with relevant parties to ensure hearings run smoothly
* attending in court as a judicial support officer both in Perth and in various circuit locations throughout Regional Western Australia.

Eligibility
The successful applicant will be required to accompany the magistrate on circuit to towns in regional Western Australia.
To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector it is essential that you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the duration of the contract.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 24 Months months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
