What you'll do * Lead and manage complex legislative and associated mental health, alcohol and other drug service system reform projects. * Establish and maintain constructive communication strategies with key stakeholders including government, the private sector, non-government stakeholders, and consumers and carers. * Establish and manage strategic relationships through maintenance of effective communication and negotiation approaches and partnerships with and between key stakeholders. * Initiate, provide and coordinate authoritative expert advice on legislative policy issues relevant to mental health alcohol and other drug services to the Department of Health, Minister for Health and other government departments. * Interpret, analyse and communicate complex ideas and information to a range of government, private and non-government stakeholders, including consumers and carers. This includes a heightened awareness to State and Commonwealth regulatory framework opportunities and challenges. * Represent the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Branch, Department of Health and Queensland Health in relation to mental health, alcohol and other drug regulatory reform matters on relevant statewide and national committees, meetings, working groups and forums. * Oversee other significant projects in the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Branch relating to quality improvement across the mental health alcohol and other drugs system including interagency information sharing agreements. * Manage finances and resources associated with project activities, including budget submissions and allocation of funds. About you * Demonstrated achievements in providing effective leadership and management at a senior level in legislative and mental health policy analysis, strategic planning, and project implementation, management and evaluation, including cross-sector collaboration. * Authoritative expert knowledge of the interpretation and requirements of relevant legislation (including, for example, the Mental Health Act 2016, Forensic Disability Act 2011 and the Guardianship and Administration Act 2000) and its complex inter-relationship with government, non-government and private sectors. * Demonstrated substantial ability to lead and manage administrative processes, staff and resources to achieve complex state-wide project objectives within required timelines in line with contemporary human resource management practices, including equal employment opportunity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, ethical behaviour, Public Sector Management Commission Standards, and associated Queensland Health policies.
