## General Manager - Food and Laundry ServicesApplylocations: Moorookatime type: Full timeposted on: Posted 2 Days Agojob requisition id: JR102127**Your Role as General Manager – Food and Laundry Services**You will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to dining services and laundry operations, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient service delivery. This role is accountable for achieving strategic goals by setting operational policies, developing and managing budgets, and leading and developing employees.Reporting to the Director – Strategy and Business Operations, this role operates in a commercially astute and competitive environment, driving opportunities for service innovation, system enhancement, and operational growth. You can build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and partnerships across the business unit, including engagement with government representatives, suppliers, and private organisations.You'll deliver this role by:* Oversee all operational aspects to ensure the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness.* Support execution of the organisational strategic plan and set clear goals for growth, sustainability, and performance within the area of responsibility.* Manage budgets and monitor financial metrics to drive stewardship and long-term sustainability.* Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.* Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, policies, and governance frameworks, identifying and escalating risks as required.* Maintain a customer-centric approach, continuously improving services to meet and exceed internal and external customer expectations.* Build strong relationships with suppliers, government agencies, and external stakeholders, managing contracts, pricing, and service delivery outcomes.* Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety standards, accreditation requirements, and all legislative obligations within the aged care sector.* Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities, using this information to inform business decisions and solutions.* Enhance information flow, management reporting, and business processes to support data-driven decision-making.**What We Offer*** **Attractive Remuneration plus packaging benefits** – Boost your take-home pay by up to $18,550 annually through not-for-profit tax concessions* **Wellbeing Support:** Access to discounts on private health insurance and gym memberships, and free, confidential counselling through our employee assistance program.**What We're Looking For*** Significant demonstrated experience leading in a large-scale food service program.* Demonstrated commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate, influence, and communicate effectively at senior executive levels across both private and public sectors.* Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.* Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans.* Demonstrated operational expertise in regeneration cook chill systems, including production planning, quality assurance, and service execution at scale.* Lead Food Auditor qualification with advanced knowledge of microbiological data and its application to food safety risk management and compliance.* Proven capability in inventory management and production planning to support efficiency, cost control, and service reliability.* Extensive leadership skills and experience, including a proven ability to effectively manage teams to achieve targeted outcomes.* Experience in complex, high risk contract development and/or management, or demonstrated success in project management within large operational environments.* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with residents, facility leaders, and local management teams to achieve high quality, resident centred outcomes.* Demonstrated knowledge of work health and safety standards and HACCP standards to CODEX level.**A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have!*** A Certificate or Diploma in Food Preparation Management (or equivalent) from an accredited University or recognised tertiary institution, demonstrating advanced knowledge of large scale food operations, leadership, and service delivery.* Formal qualifications in Quality Assurance Programs from an accredited University or College, reflecting advanced capability in compliance frameworks, audit readiness, continuous improvement, and risk management within regulated environments.**Essential Requirements*** Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)* Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.* Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work**Apply Now!**Be part of something meaningful - Click Apply today!
