Position Description
Teachers in a Catholic school play a unique role, ensuring each child has the opportunity to grow academically and spiritually and to live purposeful lives.
* Supported by the Catholic community, teachers invite students and families into a faith-filled educational experience.
* Teachers promote the school as a place of learning and excellence where creativity and curiosity are nurtured, and students are connected with their world through deep learning and engagement.
* Teachers differentiate learning according to students' educational needs and abilities, and are responsible for creating effective assessment practices and quality teaching programs.
The teacher will promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in line with contemporary evidence-based learning and wellbeing principles (including digital learning). They will ensure ongoing development and implementation of pedagogical practices that impact student learning outcomes and work within the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
Experience/Criteria
Skills and Experiences:
* Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education, actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school. Catholicity is required for Primary or Religion Teaching positions.
* Ability to plan and prepare contemporary, compliant teaching programs and assessments in nominated areas, meeting the diverse characteristics, needs, and learning styles of students, encouraging them to reach their potential.
* Demonstrated ability to utilize assessment and relevant school data to optimize educational outcomes.
* Ability to work collaboratively with staff and the wider community to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational goals.
* Demonstrate an innovative and agile mindset supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
* Four-year trained teacher qualification.
* Active NESA Accreditation.
* Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
* Completion of anaphylaxis training.
* Completion of CPR training.
