Casual Disability Support Worker Positions Available
We are looking for an experienced support worker to join our amazing team to support all aspects of 1:1 SIL (Supported Independent Living) and community care for a young man with complex needs, living in his own home in Bargara.
Roles and Duties include:
Helping him to achieve his goals by developing important daily skills such as general housekeeping duties, his personal care, interaction/social skills and budgeting.
Supporting him in planning and cooking meals for you both, as well as facilitating a connection within the community, going on outings and socialising with his peers.
Provide support taking him to appointments and sport commitments that he's involved in.
Be a good role model in teaching/supporting him to reach his goals of living independently as an adult.
We are preferably looking for someone with experience in any behavioural issues (Down Syndrome + Autism), restrictive practices including medication and containment due to absconding, and more. The successful applicants should also be physically fit, able to work and communicate well with other staff, be a problem solver etc.
Successful applicant will need to provide the following:
* Valid Driver's Licence (applicant preferably over 25yrs old with clean driving history - insurance purposes for company car)
* 100 points ID
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Possess a minimum of six months of relevant experience
Optional but willing to obtain:
* First Aid Certificate
* Medication Accreditation
Wages are paid in alignment with the SCHADS Award Level 2.3 + 1 or above depending on level of experience. We provide all work cover, QLeave, ABN, insurances and PAYG tax. There are a variety of shifts available including overnight sleepover shifts for SIL.
Successful applicants should also be willing to cover shifts if they can when the opportunity arises.
