Murray Irrigation Limited (MIL) is searching for a proactive Governance, Compliance and Quality Manager to lead and enhance our organisational frameworks, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across all operational areas.

MIL is the largest private irrigation water delivery company in Australia, formed as an unlisted public company in March 1995 when the NSW Government privatised its Murray Irrigation area and districts. The company\'s irrigators are also shareholders and include 2,100 landholdings across 724,000 hectares in the Southern Riverina.
MIL is located in southern NSW and uses approximately 2,755km of gravity-fed earthen channels to deliver a five-year average of 728GL to their landholders, through efficient management of their NSW Murray Regulated River Water Access Licences (WALs). Our head office is in Deniliquin with branch offices in Finley and Wakool. Farm businesses in the area predominately include rice, cereals, wheat, canola, annual pasture, dairy, wool, beef and lamb, with an average gross value agriculture production of $500 million.

About the role
The Governance, Compliance and Quality Manager is responsible for supporting the General Manager of Corporate Services and the Company Secretary by overseeing governance and risk management functions, ensuring Murray Irrigation Limited meets all regulatory and licence compliance requirements, and leading the organisation's quality management system.
The role manages business continuity, internal audit, risk frameworks, Board governance processes, and compliance activities, including regulatory reporting, licence obligations, environmental monitoring, and data submissions.
It also leads continuous improvement across the organisation by maintaining quality systems, delivering internal audits, and collaborating with teams to ensure alignment with legislation, standards and best‐practice governance.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, outcome focused professional with extensive experience in Governance, Risk, Compliance and Quality. To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience and attributes:
Relevant qualifications in Governance, Risk, Compliance and Quality and/or a minimum five years' commercial experience in a similar or the same role.
5+ years' experience in a similar role involving support to a Company Secretary.
Genuine interest and desire to work in Governance, Risk, Compliance and Quality.
Strong leadership skills, coupled with sound negotiation and influencing skills.
Superior attention to detail, strong capabilities in terms of prioritising work and meeting deadlines.
Capacity to assist senior executives and line managers to understand and manage risk, governance, compliance and quality.
High level of verbal and writing skills.
Capability to manage multiple competing deadlines, with the ability to prioritise work manage and organise workflow.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and have a good sense of humour.
Display high level judgement and decision-making ability and possess well developed project management skills.
Advance skills and knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Current Driver's license and the ability to travel to different work sites.
