Regional Prevention Officer (CFS3) The South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS) is seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Prevention Officer (CFS3) to support bushfire risk reduction and community safety outcomes across the Region. This role provides specialist advice and support to state and local governments, land managers, and key stakeholders on bushfire management planning and prevention. The Regional Prevention Officer plays a critical role in the development, coordination and implementation of Bushfire Management
Area Plans, provides executive support to Bushfire Management Committee(s), and contributes to policies, standards, education and training programs that enhance community resilience. Working closely with local councils, Fire Prevention Officers, community groups and partner agencies, the role supports best practice bushfire mitigation, development control, and compliance with relevant legislation. The position also represents CFS on inter agency committees and working groups, contributes to public awareness and education programs, and supports training for authorised officers and fire prevention personnel.
The role requires strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, sound knowledge of bushfire management and land use planning, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. Occasional operational duties, out of hours work and intrastate travel may be required as part of supporting CFS responsibilities across the prevention, preparedness and response. This is a term contract role, commencing ASAP and concluding on 21 November 2026.
