About The Role
We are seeking a reliable, friendly, attentive and health-focused support worker to assist an individual living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and a laryngectomy/stoma.
This role is suited to a support worker who is organised, observant and comfortable supporting someone with complex health needs, including daily laryngectomy/stoma care and monitoring.
There will be nursing oversite on the program, however day to day function will be managed by a support worker 7 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with daily tracheostomy/stoma care, cleaning and hygiene
* Monitor the tracheostomy site and airway wellbeing
* Support personal care
* Monitor wellbeing and identify early signs of health complications
* Assist with structured daily routines and personal health management
* Community access, taking participant out into the community socially and for appointments.
* Encourage safe community participation and engagement
What You Bring
• Relevant experience within disability or aged care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, reliable and participant-focused approach
• Ability to work independently
• Confidence managing manual handling
Mandatory Requirements
• Familiar with laryngectomy/stoma care or airway management
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• First Aid and CPR
• Manual Handling training
• Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
