Join a leading national plant hire company supporting major infrastructure, construction, and civil projects. We're looking for an experienced Plant Fitter to service and maintain a modern fleet of heavy equipment.
Our client is a well-established and growing plant hire provider, supplying reliable, high-performance machinery to projects across Australia. With a strong national presence, they serve tier-one contractors, government agencies, and private clients with dry and wet hire options for excavators, cranes, loaders, dump trucks, generators, and more.
You'll maintain and repair a diverse fleet both in the workshop and occasionally on-site. The role includes travel to client sites and remote locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs on a variety of plant equipment
* Conduct diagnostics and fault-finding on mechanical and hydraulic systems
* Carry out breakdown repairs on-site or in the field as needed
* Work with service coordinators to manage workloads and parts ordering
* Maintain service records and complete job documentation accurately
* Perform inspections and testing on equipment before and after hire
* Adhere to safety standards and company maintenance protocols
* Support workshop operations and collaborate with the broader team
What You'll Need
* Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Plant Fitter / Diesel Mechanic or similar)
* Minimum 5 years' experience working on heavy plant, civil machinery or similar equipment
* Experience with equipment such as excavators, rollers, dozers, telehandlers, and cranes
* Solid understanding of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
* White Card (Construction Induction) – Essential
* Forklift, EWP, or high-risk licences (highly regarded)
* Current Driver's Licence – Essential
* Welding or fabrication skills desirable
* Ability to travel for remote or site-based servicing work
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
