PITC Service Area Manager – Early Childhood

The Position:
The Service Area Manager (SAM) – Early Childhood provides strategic and operational leadership for Baptcare's Early Childhood team. This role is responsible for overseeing service delivery and ensuring performance meets both National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and Baptcare standards and measures.
The SAM leads and supports Coordinators to deliver high-quality, best-practice, and person-centred services for NDIS participants. This includes overseeing support for planning, plan reviews, and effective plan implementation for children and families.
A key focus of the role is ensuring Coordinators are well equipped with the appropriate resources, training, and guidance to deliver early supports to children aged 0–9 years and their families. This includes facilitating access to information, referrals, and linkages with mainstream and community services aligned to individual goals and needs.
Working collaboratively with key stakeholders, including the NDIA, the SAM ensures services are delivered professionally, accountably, and in accordance with Baptcare and NDIA policies, procedures, and quality and governance frameworks.
Key Selection Criteria
Knowledge and Skills
* Demonstrated experience in managing and leading staff in an environment of rapid change, including managing a mobile workforce, supervision, coaching, performance management and professional development
* Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external partners to meet program deliverables
* Highly developed communication, negotiation, relationship building, problem solving and interpersonal skills including both written and verbal communication
* Excellent organisational, time management skills, with the ability to be self-directed and work independently
Technical Expertise and Values
* Demonstrated experience in leading early childhood programmes, including an understanding of child development.
* Demonstrated, experience working alongside children with disability or developmental delay and their families to identify and achieve their goals
* Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with and delivering high quality services to people with a developmental delay or disability, their families, carers, and local communities
* Proven experience working with children and vulnerable people and understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging in this work
* Ability to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children and when working with children and vulnerable people
* Alignment and commitment to Baptcare's Mission, Vision, and Values

You must also have:
* Qualification in Early Childhood Development and/or allied health.
* Knowledge of the Early Childhood Sector.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in working with people with a disability.
* Previous experience supervision and managing staff.
* The right to work in Australia.
* Australian Driver's Licence.
* Satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Satisfactory National Police Clearance (will be completed post-interview for applicants moving onto next stage of recruitment)
* Current Working with Vulnerable People Check
