Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-Operative – Positive Ageing & Disability Services is currently recruiting for the following vacancy at our Shepparton site:
Part Time – 30.4 hours per week | Fixed Term – 12-month contract
This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander designated position, classified under Section 12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act *****).
This employment opportunity is only available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
About the Role
As Support Coordinator, you will assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants navigate and implement their NDIS plans by working alongside service providers and allied health professionals.
You will manage your own caseload of NDIS participants, providing guidance to develop and achieve goals in line with their NDIS plans.
You will demonstrate a person-centred, culturally safe approach, supporting clients to make informed decisions, exercise choice and control, and build skills to manage their supports independently.
This includes conducting assessments, educating participants, and empowering participants to engage with services in ways that respect their culture, community, and individual needs.
About You
You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Have qualifications in Aged Care, Community Services, Case Management or equivalent.
Knowledge and skills
Knowledge,skillsand experience working with people with disability and frail older people,and their carerswithin the community.
Understandingof the NDIS,includingreasonable and necessary legislation, supportcoordinationand brokerage models of service delivery.
Awarenessof the issues faced byAboriginal and Torres Strait Islanderpeoples and commitment to culturally safe practices.
Experience working with electronic client data management systems, particularly Community Connect.
Well-developed interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to workindependently as well as collaboratively within amulti-disciplinary team.

Competitive pay and conditions based on the SCHADS Award - Level 4 - pay point 1.
Salary packaging of $15,900 available for Part- or Full-time employees.
