This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing integrated media, communications, and marketing strategies that strengthen reputation, enhance visibility, and ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms.
Strategic Leadership
Partner with senior executives to implement comprehensive communication and marketing strategies.
Advise leadership on reputational management, media engagement, and communication risks.
Ensure alignment of communication efforts with broader organizational goals.
Media Relations
Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets.
Oversee press releases, advisories, and public statements.
Content & Campaigns
Lead creation of high-quality content across digital, print, and executive channels.
Manage crisis communications planning and execution.
Design and deliver campaigns to promote events, initiatives, and member benefits.
Brand & Publications
Safeguard brand identity and ensure consistent application of guidelines.
Oversee production of reports, newsletters, and other publications.
Digital & Website Management
Manage digital presence including website, social media, and email marketing.
Use analytics to inform decisions and improve performance.
Ensure website is user-friendly, current, and aligned with organizational values.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote initiatives.
Gather feedback to ensure communications meet member and audience needs.
Budget & Team Leadership
Develop and manage communications and marketing budgets.
Lead and mentor team members, fostering creativity, accountability, and innovation.
Manage external agencies and consultants to deliver best-in-class support.
General Duties
Undertake additional tasks as directed by senior leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
Postgraduate study desirable but not essential.
Knowledge & Interests
Strong interest in business issues, politics, and current affairs.
Experience
At least 8 years in senior communications roles, including 5+ years in management.
Background in Chamber or B2B environments and experience with cross-functional teams highly valued.
Core Capabilities
Established media contacts and strong stakeholder relationships.
Proven track record in delivering integrated communications strategies in complex, high-profile settings.
Skilled in producing impactful content tailored to diverse audiences.
Expertise in digital and social media platforms, analytics, and content strategies.
Strong leadership and ability to influence senior executives and external stakeholders.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in digital marketing, including social media, email marketing, and CMS.
Experience in crisis communication, issues management, and media relations.
Competence in website management and web analytics.
Ability to craft and edit compelling copy for varied audiences.
Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
